Wat Si Sawei - Sukhothai

Located at the south of old Sukhothai city. The Sri Lanka-style Chedi dates from the mid-14th century. It was the ancient site
of Hinduism before changing into a Buddhist temple. The three prangs (imitating Hindu Shikhara Vimanas) are regarded as ancient monument of considerable significance. Their slender form on low base are decorated with stucco, some design similar to those on Chinese wares of Yuan dynasty. A small mondop beside it enshrines a stone footprint of Buddha, still worshipped by resident monks.

King Rama VI visited this temple when he held the position of crown prince.
